Strengthened for His Glory

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

There are mornings when we wake up with a sense of clarity, focus, and unexpected strength. Not because our circumstances have changed, but because we’ve become aware of the One who strengthens us. That’s what it means to live in the reality that God is our strength. The Hebrew name Ezekiel actually means “God strengthens.” It’s a reminder woven into the language of Scripture that strength isn’t self-generated, it’s given!

God doesn’t owe us anything. And yet, He’s already given us more than we could ask for: life, breath, ability, purpose, and above all, Himself. We don’t serve a God who is bound to bless our plans. He doesn’t work on demand. But we serve a God of compassion, mercy, and divine intention who chooses to move in love for the advancement of His glory and His purposes. That means we can show up, do the work, and trust that our availability is often more important to God than our qualifications.

There’s a sacred freedom in understanding that God’s power isn’t tied to our sense of urgency or overwhelm. Miracles don’t come because we’re drowning — they come because He is loving. And when we understand that, we stop begging for shortcuts and start walking in faithfulness. His glory always prevails, and when we align with it, we become part of something bigger than our own limitations.

Too many of us struggle with feeling like a burden when we come to God with our mess. But that’s not how He sees us. In fact, Jesus specifically invites us to come with our burdens and our weariness. He promises rest, not resistance. The Father is not inconvenienced by our humanity. He’s not worn down by our weakness. He is our refuge, our dwelling place, our safety.

And because the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we have continual access to that refuge. That means we’re not visitors in God’s presence, we’re residents of His grace. We belong there.

But here’s where this all leads: strength is never given just for survival. God strengthens us to bring Him glory, not just publicly, but privately. Worship isn’t just what we do on a stage or in a church service. True worship happens in the unseen places: our thoughts, our financial decisions, our entertainment choices, our habits. It’s in these hidden spaces that our lives are shaped into a living sacrifice.

God is after our whole lives, not just the presentable parts. He’s looking for people who will honor Him from the inside out.

So today, remember this: You’ve been strengthened. Not to strive, but to walk. Not to impress, but to glorify. He’s already given you what you need to honor Him in secret and in public, in weakness and in power, in stillness and in action.

Let our lives be our worship!
