“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” – 1 John 3:1
Have you ever felt like God provided a word, a reading, or a song and at the time you knew there was something more in it—like you couldn’t quite graduate from it, so you kept coming back?
That’s exactly how I feel about today’s set list. I know the Father has more He wants me to receive through it. And as I write, I think I’ve started to see a piece of it. No wonder the first song is Run to the Father. The chorus says “again and again and again,” and that’s exactly what I need. I need Him. I need to be in His presence, reminded that in Him I am complete, that I have a future and a purpose. Even when my circumstances press me from all sides, He is refining me, bringing new wine and new power to accomplish what He is calling me to do—things I can only do by His Spirit.
The truth is, and now I see why I had the feeling I couldn’t “graduate” from this set list, is that the reality is we should never graduate from the holy rhythm of running to the Father. He is the source and the answer. He is both the shield who covers me in battle and the One who equips me for the fight. He prepares me in the morning and welcomes me back into His rest in the evening.
How great is the Father’s love for us.
I pray you find your way to the Father today. He is always there, waiting. I pray you hear His voice calling and that you say yes every time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer:
Father, I need You more than I can even understand. Thank You for nudging me to come close and for always receiving me with open arms when I arrive in Your presence. Thank You for Your love, for there is no greater love. Prepare me for today, and bring me back again and again so that I may always be found in You.
